Lower Maunsel Lock Moorings are situated in a tranquil spot along the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal in Somerset.
Taunton, just over five miles away, has a wide range of shops and services including a number of specialist shops, monthly farmers market and a large selection of high street names. The town also has a large selection of pubs and restaurants.
The mooring site is approximately 35m long and offers space for up to 4 vessels moored against the off-side bank.
The mooring site is at the mid-point of the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal, close to the village of North Newton.
The site is reached off of the A38 at North Petherton, along Newton Road, which follows onto Bankland Lane. Follow the brown tourist signs to the Maunsel Canal Centre. The mooring site is appoximately four and a half miles from the M5 motorway, junction 24.

The water point is on the towpath side of the canal, opposite the moorings, and is shared with passing boaters. There is a refuse compound near the car park entrance and the toilets and elsan facilities are within the canal centre building.
Car parking is available on site but is also for public use so spaces for boaters cannot be guaranteed or reserved. The car park is across the road from the mooring site and canal centre.
The wooden pontoon structure has been fitted with an anti-slip surface.
Access to the moorings is through a gate fitted with a standard BWB padlock. The permanent moorings are on the off-side, next to the Canal Centre and accessed along a footpath from Maunsel Lock.
The nearest local shops and services can be found in the nearby villages of North Newton, one and a half miles away, or North Petherton, four miles away.
The site can be seen from the towpath opposite, but access to the site must be arranged with the mooring manager.
