Bathpool is conveniently located on the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal in Somerset within a short distance of the M5.
Nearby Taunton, just over two miles away, has a wide range of shops and services including a number of specialist shops, monthly farmers market and a large selection of high street names. The town also has a large selection of pubs and restaurants.
The mooring site is arranged within a layby and provides space for up to 18 vessels (up to 8 metres long) moored against pontoons.
The mooring site is at the end of Dyers Lane, Bathpool and can be accessed from the A38, Taunton to Bridgwater road.
Access to the site is through a locked 5-bar gate, which is located at the end of the access track. A visitor car park is available next to Bathpool swing-bridge.
Toilet, shower and Elsan facilities are in the sanitary station block, to the right-hand side of the access gate to the site. There is a Biffa bin located to the side of the CSF block. These facilities are not a dedicated facility for the Bathpool mooring customers, as they are open for use by passing boats, as well as other canal users.
There is lighting for external illumination around the facilities block.
Additional facilities can be found at Maunsel Canal Centre, approximately five miles east.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
All customer items must be stored on their boat and not on any of the surrounding land at the mooring site.
The site itself is accessible to view but the entrance to the pontoons has a locked gate. Please contact the moorings manager if you require access to the pontoons.
