Hazelford Lock is located on a rural stretch the non-tidal River Trent approximately 13 miles to the north-east of Nottingham.
For boaters, the broad and fast-flowing River Trent is a clear contrast to the narrow network of canals that it connects to. The site is therefore suited to large vessels.
The site provides space for 2 vessels moored against the river wall on the lock approach.
To access the site from the A617 at Averham, turn on to Staythorpe Road and continue across the level crossing and on to Main Street. Turn left on to the access track and continue until you reach the car parking area.
Facilities Block housing toilets is located near the Lock. Waterpoints are positioned on the Lock Approach. The refuse disposal point is in the car parking area.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
No public access to boats
The site can be viewed at any time, there are no viewing restrictions. Whilst at the site however, please respect the privacy of other moorers. The site is accessed by walking across the weir footbridge, then across Hazelford Lock where the moorings are found beyond the lock approach.
