Boats moored on a Waterside Mooring site without a valid mooring agreement are preventing other potential paying customers from occupying the berth. This is both unfair to other customers on site who are paying and it also means that the Trust is losing potential income. All profit generated from our long term moorings goes back into the maintenance and care for the 2000 mile inland waterway network. We have therefore introduced a system at some of our sites of issuing Mooring Overstay Charge Notices (MOCNs) to any craft moored at the mooring site without permission. These parking style charges are collected through an approved contractor, District Enforcement Limited.
