Blackwall Basin has been designed as 'Barge Village' and is one of the Canal & River Trust's premium mooring sites in London catering for barges up to 38m.
It is conveniently located just off the River Thames, just minutes away from Canary Wharf, with its excellent shops, bars and restaurants.
As well as it's Central London location, the marina makes an excellent base for cruising the River Thames and the Medway and for exploring further afield to access the coastline and inland waterways of Europe.
The Basin offers full facilities for up to 27 vessels. There are 20 large berths suitable for larger barges and a further 7 narrowboat/small barge berths.

Trafalgar Way passes to the north of the basin at the top of the Boardwalk Place development and continues across the road bridge which spans the basin to the north west.
Canary Wharf Underground station (Jubilee Line) is 5 minutes' walk away and Blackwall DLR station around 10 minutes.

The mooring site comprises a walkway pontoon running parallel to the north wall of the basin with piled pontoon fingers for the barge moorings off the main pontoon. The facilities building is located adjacent to the access bridge.
There is no car parking at this site. There are a number of car parking spaces in Canary Wharf which are within a 10 minute walk from the site.
Storage facilities are not provided.
All customer items must be stored on boats and not on any of the surrounding land areas/pontoons.
The local rules for this site dictate the type and style of boat suitable for this mooring.
IMPORTANT NOTES: The nearby area of Wood Wharf is currently under construction. Potential customers should be aware of the likely impact of these development works and the increased potential for dirt, noise and dust. There is also ongoing work to buildings and infrastructure on the Canary Wharf estate, such as the construction of the new Crossrail station.
The mooring for a vessel, such as a Dutch Barge, that is a Qualifying Ship for VAT purposes (i.e. that is suitable for residential living accommodation and rated at over 15 tons for VAT purposes) will be zero-rated and the mooring fee will be adjusted accordingly. This is subject to receipt of a signed declaration and relevant evidence which must be supplied by moorers if requested.

The site can be seen from the quay edge at Boardwalk Place or from Trafalgar Way bridge at Cartier Circle. The site is gated so access to the site must be arranged with the Canal & River Trust Docklands office.
