The Canal & River Trust provides 20 long term moorings close to the pretty village of Frampton-on-Severn on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal. The site is split into two areas - north and south, and offers linear moorings on both the towpath side and off-side of the canal.
The southern section of the site is approximately 70m long and can accommodate up to six vessels moored against pontoons the off-side. The northern section is approximately 150m and can accommodate up to 14 vessels moored against a piled edge, with metal pile capping. There is a wide grassy bank that slopes from the towpath down to the mooring edge.
The nearby village has a local store, post office and two pubs. Further services and shops, including supermarkets, banks and restaurants, can be found in Quedgeley, Stonehouse, Cam and Dursley, all of which are within a seven mile radius of the site.
The mooring site can be accessed from the A38 via Perry Way (B4071). The site is approximately half a mile away from the village of Frampton-on-Severn. Quedgeley, Stonehouse, Cam and Dursley are all within a seven mile radius.
Access to the site is via a five bar metal gate (unlocked) which leads onto the towpath from Fretherne Bridge.
Gloucester, Stonehouse or Stroud
There is a shared water point and a refuse disposal point on the off-side of the canal, within the car park area opposite the moorings, next to the bridge hut. There is an additional water point located on the southern section moorings.
The nearest elsan, pump-out, toilets, showers and launderette are to the north at Saul Junction (approx. half a mile away). The boatyard at Saul Junction has repair facilities, dry dock and crane. Johnston Oils (on the opposite side of the canal to the permanent moorings) has diesel, petrol and gas.
There is a small public car park with space for approximately eight cars next to the bridge hut.
All customer items must be stored on their boat and not on any of the surrounding land at the mooring site.
