Bridge Inn Horton Moorings is situated amidst rich agricultural lands that flank the Kennet & Avon Canal in Wiltshire.
The moorings are located next to the popular Bridge Inn pub and local amenities and services can be found in the nearby village of Horton.
The site is approximately 140m long and provides space for up to 7 vessels moored against a wooden pontoon structure, the off-side bank of the canal.
The mooring site is in the village of Horton, approximately three miles from Devizes.
Devizes town centre offers a wide range of shops and services including supermarkets, banks and post offices. The Bridge Inn pub and restaurant has a beer garden with views of the canal.
To reach the site, approach from the A361 along Horton Road. Road access to the site is from the west side of Horton Bridge (124) at the Bridge Inn pub.
The water point is located at the end of the visitor mooring and it is shared with other boaters.
The nearest facilities for water, pump-out, elsan, diesel and gas is to the east of the site at Honeystreet, approximately five and a half miles away, or to the west at Devizes Flight, approximately three and a half miles away.
There is no longer a refuse disposal point within the pub car park. The nearest refuse facilities can be found at Devizes Lock 44, or at All Cannings - both of which are approximately 3.6 miles away in either direction.
Mooring cleats are spaced at 5 metre intervals along a wooden pontoon. The pontoon has been resurfaced with anti-slip strips.
Access to the site is along a footpath from the car park at the rear of the Bridge Inn pub. The use of the car park for our mooring customers is by agreement with the pub landlord and so we cannot guaranteed or reserve parking spaces here.
The site can be seen from the towpath opposite. There is access to the site via a footpath from the car park at the rear of the Bridge Inn Public House, so please have consideration for the publican as well as the other boaters who moor there.
