Red Bull Moorings are situated in Kidsgrove towards the southern end of the picturesque Macclesfield Canal in Staffordshire. The location is popular with boaters as it forms part of the Cheshire Ring - a circular canal route stretching for 97 miles across six separate canals.
The secure mooring site is approximately 230m long and provides space for up to 12 boats moored to the off-side bank.
The mooring site is in Kidsgrove, near Stoke on Trent, and can be approached from the A34 north or south.
To reach the site from Congleton, continue south at the traffic light controlled junction with the A50 and take the next road (track) on the left over the canal bridge.
From the south proceed through the suburb of Butt Lane and turn right along the track immediately before the Red Bull Hotel.
Access to the site is via a padlocked gate which requires a standard CRT key.
Electricity and water points on site are shared between two boats. Electricity is supplied via Smart Meters where payment is made using an on-line portal.
The nearest facilities, including Elsan disposal, pump out, laundry facilities, showers and toilets, are at Red Bull Wharf, via Hardingswood Junction with the Trent and Mersey Canal and through Locks 41, 42 and 43.
A boat repair yard is also available at Red Bull Wharf.
Car parking is not available at this site so moorers must make their own arrangements.
No public access to boats
The site can be viewed from the towpath side, however access to the site must be arranged with the moorings manager.
