Wormleighton L1

Wormleighton is a small rural mooring site on the South Oxford Canal and within 9 miles of the Oxfordshire town of Banbury.

The mooring is approximately 75 metres long and provides space for up to two boats moored against the towpath

Nearest Road

The site is approximately 300 metres to the east of Bridge 136, Fenny Compton Wharf, where the A423 Southam to Banbury Road crosses the Oxford Canal.

The moorings can be reached by foot, either from Fenny Compton Wharf or from Bridge 135, Sherne Hill, which is 350 metres from the junction of the A423, on the road to Wormleighton.

Banbury town centre is approx 8 miles to the south by road. The villages of Fenny Compton and Wormleighton are each approximately 1 mile from the site.

Fenny Compton provides a range of local services including two pubs, shop, post office, church, chapel and doctors surgery. The Wharf Inn pub is close by at Bridge 136.

The nearest water points are on the towpath at Fenny Compton, approximately 400 metres west. General boater facilities are available at Fenny Marina, approximately half a mile west.

Car parking is not available at this site so moorers must make alternate arrangements.
