Lime Kilns L1 is located on the lock-free Ashby Canal, close to Hinckley in southwest Leicestershire. The site sits directly off the A5 Watling Street and offers a peaceful rural setting with easy access to Hinckley town centre (2 miles) and Nuneaton (5 miles west).

- Berths: Up to 6 vessels moored against the off-side bank

Facilities & Services

  • Drinking water is available from the water point on the visitor moorings opposite this site.
  • Elsan disposal is available at Sutton Cheney Wharf, approximately six miles cruise to the north.
  • Refuse and elsan disposal facilities are also available at Hawkesbury Junction, an eight‑mile cruise to the south west.
  • The above facilities are provided by and under the control of the local waterway and do not form part of the mooring agreement.

Access

Access to the site is behind a vehicle barrier, with steps down to the canalside.

The site is protected by fencing and a padlocked gate. Keys are available to berth holders only for a refundable deposit of £50. Deposits will be refunded when keys are returned with a valid receipt.

  • This is a leisure mooring site intended for the storage of boats between periods of leisure use.
  • Customers may spend weekends or occasional longer periods on site.
  • The site is not sold or intended for long‑term residential use.

Start Dates

  • Auction listings: The mooring agreement is scheduled to begin 15 days after the auction closing date unless an alternative start date is stated in the vacancy details.
  • Buy It Now listings: The mooring agreement is scheduled to begin 2 weeks after the Buy It Now purchase date unless otherwise specified.

Your mooring invoice will only be issued once your application has been fully processed and all requirements have been met.
