Lime Kilns Moorings are situated on the Ashby Canal close to Hinckley in south west Leicestershire. The Canal itself is lock free for 22 miles and is almost entirely rural throughout its length.
The leisure mooring site is approximately 211m long and provides space for 6 vessels
The mooring site is directly off the A5 Watling Street at Hinckley.
Hinckley town centre, which offers a wide range of shops, is approximately two miles away. Nuneaton town centre is approximately five miles away to the west.

Drinking water is available from the waterpoint on the visitor moorings opposite this site. Further facilities, including showers and elsan disposal, can be found at Sutton Cheney Wharf, approximately six miles cruise to the north. Refuse and elsan disposal facilities are also available at Hawkesbury Junction which is an eight mile cruise to the south west.
The facilities listed above are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
Access to the site is behind a vehicle barrier with steps down to the canalside.
The site is protected by fencing and a padlocked gate. Keys are available to berth holders only for a refundable deposit of 50 pounds. Deposits will be refunded when keys are returned with a valid receipt.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
