Foxholes Moorings are situated on the Aire & Calder Navigation just over five miles from Wakefield in West Yorkshire. Within a mile is the small village of Altofts.
The linear moorings cover an area of approximately 185m and are split into two areas which are separated by an old redundant lock. The site currently has space for up to 10 vessels.
The site can be accessed from Foxholes Lane, off Church Road. The village is approximately one mile away.
The nearest water point is on the towpath side of the Kings Road site, less than 5 minutes cruise away.
A large grassed area is at the site and is for the use of all CRT customers.
Parking is available in a small layby area, off the access road, at the side of the site. There is space for approx. 3 or 4 cars but, as it is for the use of all CRT customers, space cannot be guaranteed. Further parking can be found next to the towpath side of the Kings Road site, west of bridge 5. This is also for the use of all CRT customers so space cannot be guaranteed.
The access road running past the site can be used for loading and unloading only. All vehicles must be parked in the appropriate areas afterwards.
There are various access points to the site, including the layby and from the grassed area, some of which have steps.
All customer items must be stored on boats and not on any of the surrounding land areas. The land areas must not be cultivated in any way.
Although there is little movement in the water space at this site, customers are advised to provide their own fenders as there is no rubbing strip present in this location.
Mooring rings are shared to best manage the water space at this site.
OK for mobility difficulties
The site can be easily viewed from within the confines of the site. We do ask if you intend visiting the site before placing a bid that you please respect other moorers privacy.
