📍 Location

Torksey Lock L1 is one of the Canal & River Trust’s largest permanent mooring sites, located in the village of Torksey where the Fossdyke Canal meets the tidal River Trent. The site is directly off the A156, approximately 7 miles south of Gainsborough and 9 miles northwest of Lincoln.

- Berths: 55 leisure mooring berths

- Pontoon type: Fixed with GRP surface

- Berth length may exceed jetty length

- Type: Leisure mooring only (not residential)

- Access: Gated entrance; site-specific key required (£50 deposit)

- Car park access also requires a separate £50 key deposit

This site is intended for boat storage between leisure trips. Weekend stays and occasional longer visits are welcome, but it is not suitable for residential use and lacks planning consent or infrastructure for long-term living.

Additional Information
The elsan disposal are beside the Lock. The refuse disposal point is just inside the gate to the moorers car park. A number of water points are positioned along the mooring site. The pumpout facility is on the lock approach. Elsan disposal and/or waste bins are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement. Electricity is provided via Smart Meter bollards. Please note that the berth length available is typically longer than the jetty, i.e. a boat moored against the jetty may extend beyond the length of the jetty. The access gates to the mooring site and the moorers car park are kept locked. A £50 deposit is required for the key to gain access to the moorings. An additional £50 deposit is also required if you wish to use the moorers carpark. This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring.
