Foxton Bottom Basin is located at the junction of the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line and the Market Harborough Arm, in the heart of Foxton Locks. The site sits in the shadow of the historic Foxton Inclined Plane Boat Lift and is surrounded by heritage features, green spaces, and wildlife. Access is via Gumley Road, following signs to the lower car park of Foxton Locks. A footpath leads to both sides of the basin near Side Bridge (Bridge 1A).

Parking & Access

Canal & River Trust, with the assistance of national car parking contractor Nexus, have introduced Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) at both car parks at Foxton Locks.

  • One parking permit will be provided for each mooring.
  • Permit holders should only park in the designated permit holdersโ€™ car park.
  • Only one parking permit will be issued per mooring; additional permits may be purchased.

Start Dates

  • Auction listings: The mooring agreement is scheduled to begin 15 days after the auction closing date unless an alternative start date is stated in the vacancy details.
  • Buy It Now listings: The mooring agreement is scheduled to begin 2 weeks after the Buy It Now purchase date unless otherwise specified.

Your mooring invoice will only be issued once your application has been fully processed and all requirements have been met.
