The site sits in the shadow of the historic Foxton Inclined Plane Boat Lift and is surrounded by heritage features, green spaces, and wildlife. Access is via Gumley Road, following signs to the lower car park of Foxton Locks. A footpath leads to both sides of the basin near Side Bridge (Bridge 1A).

Parking & Access
Canal & River Trust, with the assistance of national car parking contractor Nexus, have introduced Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) at both car parks at Foxton Locks.
- One parking permit will be provided for each mooring.
- Permit holders should only park in the designated permit holders’ car park.
- Only one parking permit will be issued per mooring; additional permits may be purchased.
