Tyle Mill (above lock) L1

The mooring site is in Tyle Mill, within half a mile of the village of Sulhamstead. Approach from the A4 along Sulhamstead Hill Road.

Access to the mooring site is from the west side of Tyle Mill swing bridge (23) and Tyle Mill lock (Lock 99). The site is accessed from the car park, along the towpath.

The mooring rings are spaced at 5 metre intervals. There are wooden landing jetties that are spaced 5 meters apart all along this mooring site.

Service facilities, including drinking water, elsan, a toilet, pump-out and refuse disposal, can be found on the other side of the swing-bridge, within the wharf area. The facilities listed are provided by and under the control of the local waterway and provided for the use of all boating customers, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.

The open car park on the towpath side of the swing-bridge, accessed off Silhampstead Hill Road, is also provided by the local waterway. Moorers can use the car park on a first come first served basis, but they do not have any priority over others at this site.

Local shops, pubs and services can be found in the nearby village of Theale, approximately two miles away. A wider range of shops and services can be found in Reading, approximately seven miles east.
