Hungerford Moorings are located on the north of this traditional market town on the Kennet & Avon Canal. The site is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is convenient to local shops, amenities and services, including good road and rail links.

The site is approximately 120m long and provides space for up to 6 vessels.

The site is approximately quarter of a mile away from the town centre and Hungerford Wharf.

To reach the site, follow the M4/A4 into Hungerford Town and take the turning into Bridge Street (A338). The moorings are west of the town bridge, just below Lock 74 .

The four mooring berths at the back of the residential houses on Canal Walk can be accessed on foot from Hungerford Wharf, via a locked gate behind The Granary.

The two mooring berths which are immediately below the lock can only be accessed on foot. From Hungerford Bridge (Bridge 84), walk along the towpath, crossing over Lock 74.

Additional Information

The nearest facilities are at the sanitary station east of the Station Road footbridge (Bridge 83) in Hungerford, approximately a quarter of a mile away. Facilities there include elsan, pump-out and water point. Further facilities, including toilets, can be found at Kintbury, approximately three miles east of Hungerford.

There is limited on-street parking available along Canal Walk, close to the mooring site. Alternatively, there are pay & display car parks nearby, in the town.

This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
