Red Rock Moorings are situated on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal to the north of Wigan in Greater Manchester. The site offers customers with a perfect base from which to explore the delightful countryside of west Lancashire as well as providing convenient access to local shops and other amenities in Standish, just over a mile away.
The linear mooring site is approximately 360m long and provides space for up to 17 vessels moored against the towpath.
Access to the mooring site is via the B5239, Red Rock Lane at Bridge 63, Red Rock Bridge. The nearest village is Adlington.
The nearest Canal & River Trust facilities, including water, elsan and refuse disposal, are available at Johnson's Hill Locks (Lock 58) or at Wigan Top Lock (Lock 65).
An open car park is provided by the local waterway at the start of the site, moorers can use it but they do not have any priority over others at this site.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
The mooring site has no access restrictions and can be viewed at any time. We would ask that you are considerate of current on site mooring customers.
