Located near Daventry in the Northamptonshire countryside, Braunston is a picturesque village where the Grand Union and Oxford Canals meet. Once a bustling hub of canal trade—transporting goods from the Midlands to London—Braunston has evolved into a lively centre for leisure boating and is now home to one of the busiest and most iconic stretches of canal in the country.
Braunston Puddlebanks is a charming layby mooring site set on the Oxford Canal. Nestled in a peaceful off-side location, it offers boaters a scenic and tranquil place to stop, just a short distance from the vibrant canal-side activity. Surrounded by open countryside and steeped in waterway heritage, it's an ideal base for exploring both the local area and the wider canal network.

- The mooring site is approx. 160 metres south of Braunston Turn, just below Bridge 95. The A45 London Road is 300 metres from the moorings. However, there is no road access to the site.
To reach the moorings by foot, take the towpath south from Braunston Turn and cross the stiles adjacent to Bridge 95.
Braunston village centre is within half a mile of the site and provides a wide range of services including 4 pubs, a well-stocked shop and post office, chandleries, tea room and church.
Daventry town centre is approximately 3 miles to the east.

- The nearest water, refuse and elsan disposal facilities can be found on the offside of the canal at Braunston Turn, 160 metres away.
Another elsan disposal is available on the towpath side of the canal, east towards Braunston Marina, approximately 500 metres from the site. Braunston Marina provides a full range of boaters facilities and services. Further refuse disposal and drinking water facilities can be found adjacent to The Stop House, approximately 700 metres away.
Please be aware, the aforementioned facilities are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
Mooring rings are installed at the site but mooring pins may also be required dependent on boat length and ring spacing.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
