Napton is a picturesque village perched on a hill, offering breathtaking views—on a clear day, you can see across seven counties! Nestled at the bottom of a flight of nine narrow locks, the Waterside Mooring site, sitting along a peaceful stretch of the Oxford Canal.
This location is a fantastic starting point for boaters, with access to a variety of circular cruising routes via both the Oxford and Grand Union Canals. Whether you're heading out for a weekend trip or a longer journey, the waterways from Napton open up countless possibilities.
For those venturing beyond the canals, historic towns like Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Oxford are all within easy reach—by boat or by car—making Napton a truly well-connected and charming place to moor.
The mooring site is approximately 110m long and provides space for up to 6 vessels moored against the off-side bank.

- The mooring site is located where the canal crosses Folly Lane, Napton, at Bridge 113, just below the bottom lock (no. 8).
Napton is approx. half a mile from the A425 which runs from Daventry to Southam. Approx. 1.5 miles through the village is the turning to Folly Lane and the entrance to the site is on the right hand side, just before the bridge.
There is a country pub immediately adjacent to the mooring site. A post office and cash point can be found in the village shop.

- The nearest facilities, including refuse bins, elsan disposal and toilet, can be found in the CRT operational yard, 20 metres from the mooring site. The facilities are shared with visiting boaters and the general public. There is also a water point immediately adjacent to the moorings.
Please be aware, these facilities are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
Car parking is available in the operational yard by prior arrangement only - However, this agreement could be removed at any given point.
The moorings are next to a wide grass strip and stoned path which runs the length of the site. There are steps and a gate at the entrance to the moorings and a fence along the mooring length.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
