Spice Ball Park Moorings are located in the medieval market town of Banbury on the Oxford Canal. The location provides boaters with an excellent base from which to explore the stunning Warwickshire countryside and winding course of the South Oxford Canal.
The site is approximately 250m long and provides space for up to 10 vessels moored against the towpath.
The moorings are adjacent to Spice Ball Country Park, just to the north of Bridge 163, approximately half a mile north of Banbury town centre. The A361 is within half a mile of the site.
The nearest facilities building, with drinking water, elsan disposal, refuse disposal and toilet, is within half a mile - south of the site, close to the town centre and just below Lock 29. These facilities are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
Sovereign Wharf Narrowboats, just over a quarter of a mile away to the south, also has facilities.
There is no car parking at this site so moorers must make their own arrangements.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
All customer items must be stored on boats and not on any of the surrounding land areas
The mooring site has no access restrictions and can be viewed at any time.
