Wheaton Aston L1 Leisure

Wheaton Aston is a friendly village situated between Stafford and Telford on the Shropshire Union Canal.

This picturesque setting is popular with visitors, in part due to the stunning wildflower rich floodplain meadows which border the site. Managed as a series of hay meadows for centuries, they now attract a variety of wildlife and are a nationally important nature reserve.

The location has a popular canalside pub just a few minutes' walk from the site and shared facilities on the towpath site. There are 10 moorings in total, all on the off-side bank, with 7 spaces provided below Wheaton Aston Lock and a further 3 provided above the lock.

Nearest Road

From the A5 Cannock - Telford Trunk Road travel into Wheaton Aston along High Street which becomes Long Street. Just prior to the canal 'Tavern Bridge' turn left into Greenhill Lane, then follow the road bending right into Long Street. The road becomes a dirt track called Dirty Lane which has many potholes so please drive with care. The moorings are immediately north of the canal bridge, approximately 100 metres from the housing estate.

This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
