Facilities & Services

• The water point is located on the towpath lock approach.
• The refuse disposal points are situated in the car park.
• Further facilities, including elsan disposal, can be found at Trent Lock, approximately half a mile to the west.

Elsan disposal and/or waste bins are provided by and under the control of the local waterway. They do not form part of the mooring agreement.

Waste Collection

Waste collection is provided by the local authority and is for residential customers only.

Car Parking

An open car park is provided by the local waterway. Moorers may use it, but they do not have any priority over other users at this site.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Parking is not permitted on the access road nor in the passing place.

Local Area

Nottingham Yacht Club moorings and the members’ clubhouse are close by. The clubhouse opens on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm to 12 midnight, and on Sunday lunchtimes between 12pm and 3pm.

Nearby, the Erewash Canal offers a wonderful route through the Nottinghamshire countryside that inspired DH Lawrence, passing through small towns and villages just outside Nottingham.

The canal is very popular for walking and cycling in green and peaceful surroundings. It sees less boating traffic than some canals, making it a great place for boaters to escape the crowds.

Trent Lock, where the canal joins the River Trent, is not only a major waterways crossroads but also a pretty picnic spot. Further north, Nutbrook Junction and Trowell Marsh offer nature reserve areas along the canal, with a rich mixture of woodland, grassland and swamp — ideal for spotting wildlife.

Leisure Use Only

• This is a leisure mooring site intended for the storage of boats between periods of leisure use.
• Customers may spend weekends or occasional longer periods on site.
• The site is not sold or intended for long-term residential use.
• The site does not have local authority planning consent for residential occupation.
• The facilities and services do not meet residential mooring standards.
• The offer is designed solely to meet the needs of a leisure boater.

Mooring Agreement & Application Processing

Start Dates

• Auction listings: The mooring agreement is scheduled to begin 15 days after the auction closing date unless an alternative start date is stated in the vacancy details.
• Buy It Now listings: The mooring agreement is scheduled to begin 2 weeks after the Buy It Now purchase date unless otherwise specified.

Application & Invoicing

Your mooring invoice will only be issued once your application has been fully processed and all requirements have been met.

• ✔ Current Licence
• ✔ Active Insurance
• ✔ Capability to navigate on any Trust waterways where it will be used
