Cranfleet L1 is a short navigational cut off the River Trent, located just south of Long Eaton. It offers excellent access to the Midlands waterways network, including the Erewash Canal, Trent & Mersey Canal, and River Soar. Nottingham, Derby, and Loughborough are all within easy reach by car.

This site is intended for leisure boat storage between trips. Weekend stays and occasional longer visits are welcome, but it is not suitable for residential use and does not have planning consent or infrastructure for long-term living.

Elsan disposal and/or waste bins are provided by and under the control of the local waterway. They do not form part of the mooring agreement.
Waste collection is provided by the local authority and is for residential customers only.
An open car park is provided by the local waterway. Moorers may use it, but they do not have any priority over other users at this site.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Parking is not permitted on the access road nor in the passing place.
Nottingham Yacht Club moorings and the membersโ clubhouse are close by. The clubhouse opens on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7pm to 12 midnight, and on Sunday lunchtimes between 12pm and 3pm.
Nearby, the Erewash Canal offers a wonderful route through the Nottinghamshire countryside that inspired DH Lawrence, passing through small towns and villages just outside Nottingham.
The canal is very popular for walking and cycling in green and peaceful surroundings. It sees less boating traffic than some canals, making it a great place for boaters to escape the crowds.
Trent Lock, where the canal joins the River Trent, is not only a major waterways crossroads but also a pretty picnic spot. Further north, Nutbrook Junction and Trowell Marsh offer nature reserve areas along the canal, with a rich mixture of woodland, grassland and swamp โ ideal for spotting wildlife.
