Grand Sluice Lock is situated on the River Witham at Boston in Lincolnshire.
The River Witham flows through quiet, flat Lincolnshire countryside, and is very peaceful and remote for much of its length. Marshy fenlands stretch out for miles on either side, giving a real sense of space – and the sunsets can be spectacular.
Within walking distance of Boston town centre. From the historic Guildhall to the beautiful nature reserves at Frampton Marsh and Freiston Shore, there is plenty to see and do in Boston. The market town has a rich heritage and is known to many people as the home of the Pilgrim Fathers, who sailed from The Haven in 1620 and settled in what is now Boston, Massachusetts.
With its historic buildings and dramatic coastline, this east Lincolnshire market town has plenty of things to do making it a great choice for a getaway and is ideally located just a short drive from Skegness
The mooring site is approximately 170 metres long and provides space for up to 4 vessels moored against pontoons.

Elsan disposal, shower and toilet facilities are located at Grand Sluice Lock (approx. 400m away). Facilities Block and/or waste bins are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
There is some car parking (approximately 400m away) for general public use - spaces cannot be reserved for moorers. An open car park provided by the local waterway, moorers can use it but they do not have any priority over others at this site.
The Environment Agency lowers the level of the River Witham during the winter months for flood alleviation reasons. Craft moored at the site therefore may be grounded during the winter period.
This is a leisure site and is determined by us to be a mooring site for the storage of boats between leisure use, customers may well spend weekends on this site, and occasionally longer periods, but it is not sold as, or intended to be suitable for long term residential use. This site does not have local authority planning consent for residential use, neither does it have the level of facilities and service expected of such a mooring. As such the offer that we have is only intended to meet the needs of a leisure boater.
