📍 Location

Trent Lock L1 is located near Long Eaton, at the junction of the River Trent, River Soar, Trent & Mersey Canal, and Erewash Canal — a meeting point affectionately known as Waters Meet. The site lies at the end of Lock Lane, off the B6540 Tamworth Road, just before the railway level crossing.

- Berths:

- Linear berth directly above the lock (suitable for breasted-up pairs)

- 6 berths for large static vessels a short distance beyond

- Type: Leisure mooring only (not residential)

- Access: No gated entrance; footpath access only

- Garden Ground Agreement applies to static houseboats (annual fee payable)

- Elsan disposal, toilets, and showers in shared facilities block

- Refuse disposal provided by the local waterway team

- Facilities block and bins are not part of the mooring agreement

- Car parking: Open and unsecured; moorers may use but have no priority

This site is intended for boat storage between leisure trips. Weekend stays and occasional longer visits are welcome, but it is not suitable for residential use and lacks planning consent or infrastructure for long-term living.

Nearest Road
Approaching the site from Long Eaton, turn left off the B6540 Tamworth Road in to Lock Lane immediately before KAM Servicing. Follow Lock Lane, over the railway level crossing to the end of the road where the site can be found on the left land side. There is a small selection of shops and a railway station in Sawley village, approximately one mile away to the north east. Long Eaton town centre, where services including banks, a post office, pubs and restaurants, are available is approximately three miles away.

Additional Information
Static houseboats have mains utilities. Each mooring has a garden area which is covered by a Garden Ground Agreement. An annual fee is payable. Facilities Block and/or waste bins are provided by and under the control of the local waterway, they do not form part of the mooring agreement.
